Registration or Updates

The first step to responsible dog ownership is licensing your dog. The Dog Responsibility and Control Bylaw No. 34-42 Section 401 states that all dogs over the age of six months living in Kamloops must hold a valid license, which is to be renewed annually with the City. A licence helps to protect your dog by providing a registered dog tag which is the fastest way to identify your pet.

To register your dog for the first time, you will need the following information:
* Your dog's name, breed, colour, and gender
* If your dog is spayed or neutered, you will need to have your Spay/Neuter Certificate from your veterinarian ready to attach to receive the discount rate

Applications for some dogs must be completed in person or by mail.
* BC Guide and Service Dog
* Police Dog
* Dog deemed guard, aggressive, vicious or dangerous

For any questions, please contact Community Services at communityservices@kamloops.ca or 250-828-3409.

A false declaration made on this application will deem the Dog Licence to be invalid.

Your session will time out after 30 minutes of inactivity.

The City will send a Licence Renewal Invoice every year when your dog licence needs to be renewed. Dog licence renewals can be paid for online.

Please notify Community Services at communityservices@kamloops.ca when your contact information has changed, you have moved or no longer have the dog(s).
